Dr. Sara Hazel met her first naturopathic doctor in the jungles of Belize while studying Tropical Ecology. Intrigued by a paradigm that could bridge science, medicine, nature, and traditional healing, she finished her B.S. in Biology and pursued her doctorate from the National College of Naturopathic Medicine in Portland, Oregon. In addition, she studied physical medicine, recieved her massage license, and went on to study Oriental Medicine and Acupuncture, Medical Qi Gong, and Ayurvedic medicine.
Dr. Sara Hazel has been in practice for fourteen years, and has taught and lectured throughout the United States, in massage schools, teaching hospitals, resorts and spas. She is currently academic and clinical faculty at the Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine. She has a family practice in Tempe and Flagstaff, Arizona.
Dr. Hazel has a broad experience in many health conditions, but her focus and passion remain in teaching individuals and communities the ways and methods that create and maintain health. Diseases are often prevented by giving people the knowledge and resources to live long and abundant lives. Many simple conditions can be treated at home. By empowering ourselves with the tools and resources of self-care, we can reserve expensive and potentially risky medical intervention for when it is truly needed.
A passionate advocate for advancing our capacity to live life more abundantly, she is frequently asked to talk and lecture on Natural Medicine.
